TV DVD Combo

The TV DVD combo is what most people need today, as houses and apartments are now getting smaller everyday, and you need to make the most of that brand-new apartment or house, saving as much space as possible. The TV DVD combo has a built-in DVD player, which means that it enables you to combine the television with a DVD or other devices such as Blu-ray or any other disk format. This then saves you space at home, and there is no need to do much wiring.

What to Look for in Your TV DVD combo

1. Audio and Video quality – The video and audio quality is one of the first things you need
to check when buying your TV DVD combo. You may be offered some good deals when
buying, but you should not be carried away by such things, as you may be disappointed
with the quality of the video and the audio.

2. USB – It is necessary to check the USB capabilities of that TV DVD combo, as those
are the features found in many types today. The USB capabilities will serve you in many
ways if you have many videos stored on your personal computer, and you would like to
watch them on a bigger screen.

3. Not too big – This is very important with your TV DVD combo. Remember that the
purpose of buying the device is to save space at home; therefore, it would not be good
to go ahead and buy the one that is too big. A good TV DVD combo should be space-
efficient and slimmer. For instance, the Toshiba 32CV100U 32-Inch 720p LCD/DVD
Combo TV is small and slim to an extent that one would take it not to be a TV DVD
combo appliance. The good thing about this item is that it even looks like the basic LCD
TV that has no DVD feature.

4. HDMI output – A good TV DVD combo should come with HDMI output, and you
should consider this when buying one.

5. Price – The prices of electronic items like the TV DVD combo depend on the features
you want – more features mean you will pay more. That is why it is necessary to check
the internet before buying. The internet offers items which are very cheap. In addition,
you will be able to check the offers of many brands from different suppliers.

When buying your TV DVD combo, you should understand many of the basic features that
determine an experience with having such things. It would be a frustrating experience to have to buy a TV and DVD player and then discover that it does not have the necessary features like sound quality, imaging, resolution, or that the necessary wires are not there, and you will need to buy additional wires and cords. When buying the TV DVD combo, make sure that everything is in place and that whatever additional thing to be bought is really necessary and compatible with the appliance.

Flat Screen TV

The flat screen TV increases your viewing experience, in addition to being the trend. There
is virtually no home in North America where you don’t find one type of flat screen TV or the
other, with different sizes and brands depending on the need of the family. The TV makes you to see the moving pictures in a natural way. Watching sports programs makes you to feel the real presence of the stadium, as if you were there. The flat screen TV makes you to view from any angle without missing any interesting action.

How to buy the flat screen TV

Flat screen TVs are known to have advanced features, and you need to study the manual before knowing how to handle the necessary functions. The hundreds of features make it necessary to choose wisely when buying your flat screen TV, and these are the 2 basic things to consider:

1. Image display and resolution – The plasma flat screen TV makes you to have sharp and
detailed images, especially with respect to the onscreen image. However, LCDs make
you to view images unchanged even when you have bright conditions. LCD is good
because there are many screen sizes in the market, making it to be often considered in
place of plasma. There are screen sizes from 15 inches to 60, though the display quality is
what you will always have to battle with. If that is important to you, the plasma should be
considered instead. Plasma also has a headway because it has better contrast, black and
gray color production than the LCD, in addition to good response times. That is why you
should always look for the LCD having the LED feature.

2. Size – The plasma flat screen TV is usually very big, while you have the LCDs coming
in sizes which are very small, and light. Most people consider big screens when looking
for the HDTV to buy, as you are able to see the images clearly. However, they do not
come into the category of flat screen TVs.
flat screen tv

Plasma or LCD?

This is a question often asked by most newbies when looking for the flat screen TV to buy.
They also get confused when the hear “LED TV’s”. As far as HDTV is concerned, the LED TV is not a different technology. The LED TV is the LCD TV having LED backlights. Plasma flat
screen TVs work like a fluorescent light, where an electric charge produces gas, a process which generates the ultra-violet light that makes phosphors to glow. On the other hand, LCD images are produced by backlights or the shining bright light generated by moving liquid crystals which either transmit or block light.

For the flat screen TV of up to 42 inches, it is good to buy LCD, while the technology or format should determine your choice when considering the bigger flat screen TVs from 50 inches. In the market today, you will always come across flat screen TVs with widescreen of a ratio of 16:9, meaning that for each 16 inches of the width the screen, you there are 9 inches of depth, close to the ratio of the movie screen in most theaters.

What you want and what you are expecting should really determine whether to go for plasma or LCD. Another thing that some people consider is the price, where you have the LCD becoming more expensive because it has more features that add to user experience.

Review: Downton abbey

So yes I know that season two just ended, now for all of you that follow the TV show Downton Abbey you will soon find out through your TV guide that the Christmas-special episode will air on ITV the 25th of December.

But sadly I have to admit that this TV show haven’t caught my interest until recently, I have up to date seen six episodes of season one, that’s the perfect amount for me to be able to review it properly.

First some facts about the TV show directed to season one:

Downton Abbey a British TV show that aired first in 2010, its written and created by Julian Fellowes.

The show is about the aristocratic family Crawley and their servants. The story takes place in the fictional Downton Abbey and is filmed at Highclere Castle in Hampshire with its beautiful exterior both outside and the majority of the inside filming. Season one starts with the news about the Titanic’s sinking, this sets the storyline.

The TV show is one of the UKs most successful period dramas, with up to ten million viewers per episode, and you will always find it in some TV guide. It has also been a success on the Internet via ITV Player.

So how has the six fist episodes been for me?

Even if this TV show takes place almost one hundred years ago, the story is similar to a lot of TV shows that takes place now, by that I mean its about love, relationships and family. One follows three sisters struggle with what’s expected of them seeing how they are from a family with means. One of the sisters gets politically involved and fights the battle of women’s rights in society. The same intrigues that happen in the riches of families also happen among the servants. They as well sometimes play nasty tricks to get ahead of their colleagues.

What I really enjoy about this TV show is the beautiful surroundings and they really have captured an authentic feeling. I can’t wait to se the rest of season one and catch up until season three comes out in the summer of 2012, gotta make a mark of the start in my tv guide!

I really recommend this TV show to anyone that want to get a feeling of how things were one hundred years ago, and its great when you realize that we are pretty much fighting the same problems but perhaps in a different way.

If Downton Abbey keeps on being great it will definitely be worth 5 Quick TV Guide tellys but for now I give it a special score. 4.5 Quick TV Guide tellys:

Pan Am

It’s time to review the pilot episode of the new Pan Am TV show created by Jack Orman. The TV show is a period drama and focuses on the pilots and stewardesses working on the iconic Pan American World Airline, called Pan Am.

It takes place in the early 1960s witch is also called the beginning of the commercial jet age.

According to the New York Times the pilot episode cost about $10million, Sony produces the series and got picked up by ABC in the United States. In the US they are now looking forward to the ninth episode, as for us the TV show Pan Am recently premiered in the UK on BBC two last Wednesday the 16th of November.

Like I mentioned in this TV show we follow both stewardesses and pilots working for Pan Am although I think we saw a bit more of the stewardesses in the pilot episode rather than the pilots.

A little selection from the cast and what we know about them after the pilot episode:

Christina Ricci plays Maggie Ryan, a stewardess that seems to have been in the game for a while.

Margot Robbie plays Laura Cameron, sister to Kate Cameron. Laura was supposed to get married but in the last minute changed her mind and became a Pan Am stewardess.

Kelli Garner plays Kate Cameron a stewardess that’s been working at Pam Am longer than her sister Laura. Kate gets picked up by the American government to be a spy for them during the cold war whilst working for Pan Am.

So after seeing the fist episode of this TV show what are my thoughts?

Lets put it this way, I’m not totally hooked but I am a bit intrigued to se at least a couple more episodes to get a better picture of where the TV show will take us.

I must say I think they have captured the 60s feeling quite good. And I really enjoy looking at their nice clothes and sets. Although some effects were rather lame for instance when Maggie Ryan takes of in a helicopter from the Pan Am headquarters that looked like cheap animation.

I really don’t like to review a TV show from just looking at the pilot, its like judging a man by his shoes. So here is what I will do. I will come back for a review once I have seen the whole of season one. Until then I give Pan Am

Review: Entourage

Okay so I’m a bit late with this review seeing as the last episode of entourage aired a couple of months ago. But better late then never!

Entourage is certainty one of my favorite TV shows of all time, and rumor has it that even President Barak Obama is a fan of the famous TV show! And now that the show is over for good it’s a good time to think back of what we liked and off course the things we didn’t like.

So this review will as you might understand be a bit different because it will be very broad because it will reflect the TV show in total. Not just a season or episode.

The main plot of the TV show is that we follow up-and-coming movie star Vincent Chase and as the title says his entourage. Vincent’s entourage consists of his older brother who is a struggling want to be actor called Johnny Drama, his friend Turtle who is the designated driver, and one more friend Eric a.k.a E, who quite quickly gets the role as Vincent’s manager. Of course like any famous actor Vince has an agent, in this case the hard working stressed agent named Ari Gold.

Through out the series it is mostly about how Vincent’s friends and employed people work towards making him a huge movie star! Like most celebrities he battles with bad reviews bad press and a few flops, and of course there are successes involved as well. One of the moves that Vince makes is called “Aquaman” and it makes movie history as it earns more money than spider man did at the opening weekend.

I must say I love this Show for many reasons; it’s an easygoing fun and realistic TV show. And I really enjoy watching the famous and rich, dreaming of getting there one day myself! Another fun thing is that it involves a lot of “in real life” famous people to play themselves as guest stars. This includes celebs like Matt Damon, Jessica Alba, Snoop Dogg, and the list goes on and on.

As the TV show goes on the focus moves in a direction where we find out more about “behind” the movies and how Ari Gold have to go through a lot in order to keep Vincent Chase floating in a town like LA and at the same time make the relations with his family work. We also get more involved in the others careers as Johnny Drama gets some good TV show parts and how E starts his own Management business and finds the love of his life. Even the lazy and laidback friend Turtle gets some success when he gets involved in some business deals.

To sum up I have to say that the TV show Entourage is a great experience! Sadly it looses its touch towards the last two seasons, but I don’t want to get stuck in that rather then focus on the awesome show it really is! Sadly like I said before the last season has aired but hey, this show you can se again!

And there are some rumors that say they will make a movie, I am a bit skeptic towards it but who knows it might be fun, and maybe it will make up for the not so good last season!

Having in mind that entourage has delivered a lot of really good times in front of the TV I cant give it anything less than five Quick TV Guide tellys:

Review: How i met your mother

All right people we have recently seen the ninth episode of How I Met Your Mother and according to the TV guide on Tuesday its time for the tenth!

So the good news is that’s we still have plenty of fresh episodes to look forward to. But now I want to take a moment and write down my thoughts about the new season kind of like TV show review.

The plot of How I Met Your Mother is that we follow Ted Mosby and his story of how he eventually finds the mother to his children. That’s a great idea for a script and I am sure a lot of you agree with me that it is overall a funny and a great TV show!  But I have to say that season seven has so far been a bit of a disappointment, it feels like they lost their touch. The weird thing is that I can’t really put my finger on what’s wrong but it sure doesn’t feel the same. Maybe it feels this way because the focus on the main character Ted has disappeared a bit, now the TV show is more about if and how Barney and Robin will get together again and about Marshal and Lilly’s upcoming child rather than how Ted will meet the mother to his children. Another interesting thing about season seven is Robin’s boyfriend Kevin who’s character has gotten quite big role in some episodes. I really think he brings a fun dynamic to the group with his psychological skills! So fine it doesn’t always have to be mostly about Ted, but it kind of feels like he is the smallest part now. Like I mentioned before there is still plenty of episodes left so anything can happen. One thing I’m looking forward to is finding out who Barney will marry! Hopefully we will find that out at the end of this season. But one of the absolute funniest things about How I Met Your Mother is that we never know what will happen! I actually think that How I Met Your Mother is one of the smartest and most cleverly written sitcoms I have ever seen! A lot of episodes have really amazing ways of tying everything together.

When it comes down to the ratings it’s hard, but I have decided to have two categories: the series in total and season seven so far!

The series in total gets four Quick TV Guide tellys:

Season seven gets three Quick TV Guide tellys:

When I look at the TV guide listings

I’m probably one of several millions that looks in the TV guide listings a lot! It’s
actually one of the first things I do when I wake my computer up at the office, I
have a quick glance of what’s on TV when I come home from work!
Maybe this sounds like I’m addicted to TV!? If that’s the case I don’t know! But
for me I think it’s more about control of what I might bee doing that evening!

Frankly there is a big chance that I will spend time in the sofa watching one of
the programs that I spotted interest of from the TV guide listings!
So that kind of brings me to my next thought, if I spend a few minutes finding
out what’s on the TV tonight there has to be a connection to the title of the TV
shows name and the things I might enjoy! So lets say I find a show that has an
interesting title then of course I read the lite information text about the program.
That’s where it gets critical, because if the authors don’t capture the feelings
that I want to see there is a big chance I simply will not watch that particular
program. Then there is the next thing, what if the show doesn’t live up to the
well-written words in the TV guide listing?

Surely you have hade the same
experience when you might have seen a commercial or read in the TV guide
listings about a new program that seemed interesting but once you watched the
show you realized that that was not at all what you have expected. Luckily that
experience can go both ways, sometimes it’s a lot better than you might ever
have thought! In that case it’s a pity that the TV guide listings didn’t do a better
job convincing everyone to see it!

So to sum up, the TV guide listings is important to me, and surely to a lot of
you out there as well. Some of you might not realize what impact the TV guide
listings have on what you will end up doing that day or what TV shows or movies
you might end up seeing! A quirky way of seeing this would be that the TV guide
listings determines you future, or perhaps at least your evening in front of the
TV!

Offering pithy characters, witty repartee, and gritty, determined criminals, the viewer is sure to be entertained. If you are going through Waking the Dead withdrawals, then the new lineup for this Fall will make you feel better, right away.

American broadcasting shows are a favorite for many and the current lineup offers such classics as Family Guy, American Dad, and others. These quirky cartoons offer escape and comedic interaction to viewers. And, if comedy is your choice of entertainment, then sit back with a cuppa and enjoy such shows as the Big Bang Theory, and Momma’s Boy.
